When we try to do God's work, when we try to encourage. build up something to help others, we face so much spiritual battle.. The voices that tells us to give up, stop what we're doing and just do our daily activities, the voices in our heads that tempts us to stop building ministries, to stop reaching out to others. The things that dont go our way, the difficulties that we face, the troubles that we face when we try to do something right.
Recently i watched a sermon given during the hillsong conference that really impacted me. Talking about spiritual battles, talking about preaching to yourself and telling yourself that you are NOT ALONE.
The 3 pointers:
1) You are not alone, Jesus is with you
2)Jesus is at the bottom
3) You have Faith for This
When you feel God has deserted you, when you feel you're falling into a bottomless pit, when you feel that no one has gone through so much pain that you are going through, when you feel like giving up, remember that Jesus is at the bottom carrying you through it.
How many times have we told ourselves that "no, we can't do it.." " its impossible to complete it in time.." " we dont have enough resources to complete it.." How many times have we questioned ourselves and questioned about our Faith in God? When the sun is shining, when everthing is going your way, so often we tend to forget about God and only remember Him in times of trouble and trial.
Took the next few line from my devotional book- Streams in the Desert
"Faith grows during storms... The strongest trees are found not in the thick shelters of the forest, but out in the open, where winds from every direction bear down upon them. The fierce winds bend and twist them until they become giant in stature." "It is the same in the spiritual world.. When you see a person of great spiritual stature, the road you must travel.. is not one where the sun always shines and wildflowers always bloom. Instead, the way is steep, rocky, and narrow path, where the winds of hell will try to knock you off your feet, and where sharp rocks will cut you, prickly thorns will scratch your face, and poisonous snakes slither and hiss around you. The path of Faith is one of sorrow and joy, suffering and healing comfort, tears and smiles, trials and victories, conflicts and triumphs, and also hardships, dangers, beatings, persecutions, misunderstanding, trouble, and distress." ".. And it is in this atmosphere of conflict that Faith finds its most fertile soil and grows most rapidly to maturity."
Faith grows in trials, in difficulty, in storms of your life. When you feel all is lost, when you feel that you're all alone, with no one beside you, when all you see is a shade of grey, when the sun sets, when the rain comes, This is where your faith is being tested. Dont lose FAITH, don't lose HOPE, don't lose HEART. Persevere on, continue on the path and continue to lean on God's Strength to carry you through your difficulties. This is the time where you have to remind yourself that You are not alone, Jesus is with you, Jesus is at the bottom and You have FAITH for THIS.
pushing on..
